Where have we been...

You may ask yourself why hardly any posts these days? Well i'll tell you why. I got an adult job. Yes a grueling paper cut alarm clock infused adult job. Pay cheques yay. Party nay. But on the up swing of things I am doing something out of the ordinary (for me) in my evenings. I decided to do what ever 20 something does when listening to music just isn't enough. I joined a band. Yes, it is Lous, Kevins, Matts and Tylers band too. Mostly theirs because i play tambourine and sing....soon to be playing organ...need me an organ. But a big thing and i mean HUGE thing is that our first show we are opening up for someone really fucking rad someone that i've put on this blog and someone who we've gone to go see. someone we own the records of and someone who's on our FAVE label. GONER RECORDS. Anyways enough said. March is soon approaching and we've gotta practice. The line-up is as follows....Ringo - Tambo. Lou - rhythm guitar. Matt - drums. Tyler (ricky bisniss)- bass. and Kevin - Lead guitar.

Party still happens on Saturday though. Since I get weekends off now...partying like the normals sucks. On another note Christmas is coming. My list is as follows....

Boots
Clothes
Kittens
Tambourine
One piece jumpsuits
Theatrical makeup
Lou weed <3

Recording.

We recorded a song last nite and by we I mean Myself, Lou and Ty (our roomie). Lou has been making tapes lately so I decided to go along for the ride. I came home kinda drunk anyways so I was up for anything. Its been awhile since i've posted anything due to the fact that I just got a real life adult job. Yep. I starting to grow up...but no matter I'm only gonna grow up a little.

Hair Wraps!

Okay, so..remember those hair wraps you got when you were a kid and you got them from a friend or on a vacation or from some theme park? Well I just got one from my friend Sarah. Shes amazing at doing these things. She bought the string from Kensington market and it's that type of string that gradually changes colors as you wrap. After a couple pipe tokes and some Fresca and vodka, I was feeling daring and I said wrap it up. Special thanks to Tom for taking some pictures of the hair wrap in progress.

Sarah has the best room ever. There's so much to look at and there's Craft Corner. If you make something in craft corner she puts it up on her wall. Which made me feel kinda famous. This wrap is the only hippie part about me I think...Good vibes thanks to my pal Sarah.

OH Yeah! I almost forgot! After that we went to Che (which thank god is still there after that 3rd floor fire) and got sociable!!!

Ex- pensive

Holy shit why is everything so fucking expensive? Me and Lou wanted to go on the ferris wheel at the Ex in Toronto. One ride thats all we wanted. Guess how much? 14 goddamn 50. 14.50. Really? Really. So being bitter and jaded about the whole experience we had a fudge apple and a hot waffle ice cream sandwich (so good) and basically forgot about the ridiculousness of carnivals and having this fat blonde bitch yelling in my ear to take an alternate of a photo when i was just taking a test shot...anyways...ranting...

~I forsee empty wallets and bloated stomachs~

we headed back to the city and went to CHE and had drinks and ran into our favorite person in the whole world, Kevin.

On another note I cannot wait to move out of this house. More on that later...

Trying to do it everyday.

Blog that is. I'm trying to do it everyday but it's fucking HARD. I work 2 jobs now so it's super hectic. Anyways I came across some pictures of my birthday this year that was held at CHE. Thanks to Luis Mora and Thin Lines for capturing and putting my drunken moments to music. Like you haven't seen me this drunk before....yeah, right....

Just an ol' buckethead...

I LOVE TY.

I loooove Ty Segall! Me and Lou went to go see him recently at Parts and Labour on Queen St W. in Toronto, and boy what a show. There were 4 bands for 10 dollars and all of them were good. I failed to bring my camera for this show simply because I knew it was going to be crazy and I have no insurance on the damn thing, and couldn't afford another camera at this point if i tried. Anyhoo, madness ensued at the show with lights falling off of the ceiling and many a microphone disconnected multiple times by overcrowding. So in short it was fun. If ya gotta chance check out Estrogen Highs, Teenanger (if you already haven't...link is in a later post), Royal Baths and if you haven't checked out Ty Segall yet do it now. Here's a great album released by Goner records, 2009.

LETS DANCE!

Lets Dance from Edmonton Alberta!!! we had the pleasure of having these 4 fine young rock n roll, junk food eating, gangsta rapping, party dudes at our place. Rocket reducers played 4 shows around southern Ontario with lets dance.

The boys were nice enough to put myself and my band up for a few days at their place last summer, so naturally, it was time to return the rock n roll favor.

Ben Disaster!

day 1

when the boys arrived to Hamilton we found out Ben mangled his hand on a broken bottle in N.Y.C and was going to get antibiotics to hopefully stop infection. The first night he had to bail from the hospital to play the show, partying ensued and he woke up the next day and headed for the hospital.

day 2
since the band was crashing around our place for 4 days they drove me to all the shows, and put up with my chain smoking.
the next day we played a early show in London, had fun, got stoned and on the ride home thought we saw a U.F.O but we were just stoned, talked about the sweet BBQ i had planned for us, feasted, drank white Russians and passed out.

day 3
woke up early and before the show me and Ringo made a pit stop in Niagara Falls, because the dudes had never been, Matt was stoked. He got to cross seeing Niagara Falls off of a list of things normal people want to see.

Byron, Ben, Matt and Thomas.

St Catherine's always a good city to play, all our friends come out and we had a blast, plus it was Grubers a.k.a Burgers birthday. drink tickets and $3.50 shots of jack all night, till Ringo, Lets Dance and myself drove home to hammer city to drink till the wee hours and fry our brains.

Terrible Thomas

day 4
i got up and made a shit ton of cassettes, dubbing them 1 at a time because we ran out of l.p's in London and wanted something to sell in Toronto. i did the artwork the night before and hand assembled them on the ride, all while sweating my balls off. ah Toronto, the city where everybody shows up late, misses your band, doesn't buy a record and swears they'll be at the next show. Before the show we swung by hits and misses so i could blow my cash wad on some records. found time for pizza pies, and headed to the silver dollar! the show was fine, the beer was cold, and when it was all done i was sad to see lets dance go. those guys are some of the nicest coolest rock n roll blood brothers you could hope for. i hope we meet again soon. I already miss the pitter patter of little Thomas and Byron running up the stairs, the Nas records when i wake up. the fruity pebbles, and the endless appetite those boys have for $3.50 assorted subs.

So I Was at This Bar and There Was This DJ.....

I Don`t like the Beatles much...I`m a die hard Stones fan not that the 2 intertwine musically or maybe they do to some but George Benson showed me how things should be. Smoke a joint and see how it all shoulda been.

Few Days Late

So me and Weed have been pretty busy during the last couple of weeks with shows, work and sleeping. We even had a band from Edmonton called Let's Dance stay with us for 4 days. Lou will tell you more about that later. Anyhoo, one of our favorite things to do is go to a low down dirty show and then go for some low down dirty food. The show was pretty good, it was Scott H. Biram, a blues/rock n' roll/trucker/one man band/fried chicken tattoo on his forearm type of guy.

After that type of shit, one needs his or her fill of grease! HARVEST BURGER HOOOO MY FRIENDS!!!

You would think that a veggie burger and fries wouldn't be that greasy...thats what I thought. So I got cheese on mine.

Sugar and Spice and a pinch of Psych.

A few days ago I made "The Very Strawberry" which is a recipe I found at the back of a Lula mag my pal Christina Bell gave me. It was a total success. Strawberry cream cheese icing? Hell yes. And because I was making something pink I decided that I needed to listen to something fitting while making my creation. The album Give Me Pink by TEENANGER was a great choice.

Golden Age

There comes a time in one's life when ya gotta do something you reaaaally don't wanna do. The kicker is if its on your birthday too. Poor Louie had to play some laaame festival with all sorts of shitty bands peddling shitty merch with shitty fans wearing shitty clothes in a shitty town. All on his birthday. I suppose thats part of gettin' old, its no longer cake and tissue paper. The only good part?? The hotel, the whiskey and some unmentionables.

Dee Dee King ladies and germs.

Don't drink and post

Hey hey hey hey! When you're drunk you always think that you'll have the most genius things to say or stories that sound really great. Unfortunately, on paper everything sounds like shit when you're drunk. When you're drunk you're a shit talker. Unless you're talking about a pet. A furry friend. Like for instance my cat ( I guess it's Weed's too). The cat in question is named DeeDee King after the late great DeeDee King. Okay, okay...So Dee Dee Ramones rap career was nothing to mention. percacetttts...

P.S. Lou has to write his full name at the end of post because it seems less "contrived." Riiiiiight...

Late Nite Cravinsss'ss's

well...everybodys heard about the burg....
grab a seat, and a greasy snack! my of late favorite, dirty, delicious, despicable American junk food snack has crossed the border. If you want to experience the taste of a hamburger in chip format this is your best bet if there ever was one. I swear to god it tastes exactly like a flesh and blood burger. no word of a lie. its a hamburger. late night taco time and jalapeno poppers ain't got shit on the cheezburg flava. Collision doritos go fuck yerself there's a new big cheese in town.

Hawaiian pizza and Polaroids

Between spiced rum and cokes, pizza, setting up this blog and a photo shoot on the fly, I've had a pretty productive day. The sugar daddy is at work so I've also had time to bone up on my Kids in the Hall. Scans of the polaroids from the shoot will be posted asap hopefully. Many thanks again to the wonderful Luis Mora. Now its time for a tall glass of iced green tea and a smoke.
